Bou is a horse on our farm in Greenwood, DE. He has always been an easy keeper, up until the spring of '06. He went from needing one small coffee can of 10%, and 2 flakes of hay twice a day in the not so grassy season, or just good ol’ pasture in the summer, to a large coffee can of 14% and all the hay or grass he could eat.
We started out just upping his grain and hay and then we of course took him to the vet. He had lots of blood work done and nothing came back conclusive. The vet said it did sound like he had some sand in his gut so we did a massive sand clear regimen. At least he stopped losing weight, but he still wasn’t gaining either. He has always been on a very complete worming system so we knew he wasn’t wormy. And of course the vet checked to verify this. Talk about being at wits end!
In the mean time I had attended a farriers seminar and you were there sharing your Kombat Boot product. I figured, what have I got to lose? We put him on the recommended amount. The first month, as much as I wanted to see a change…there was none that you could see. The second month, well…I thought maybe, but still I figured it was because I wanted this stuff to work. But when he hit month three, there was no doubt what you were seeing.
I have sent these few pictures that I took. You kept saying, “Take pictures! Take pictures!!!” So I did, and woala!!! You can see I captured the Kombat Boots in action! I sent several just so you could really see that it is the same horse. Some of the shots you couldn’t really tell because I didn’t get the white on his face or legs on the same side. But I think you can clearly see that it is Bou in several of the shots anyway.
His spine is no longer sticking up, and even under the winter hair you can see how poor he was looking last winter. In his summer pictures you can see how his spine is covered nicely, and how his hipbones don’t look like they are holding his hide on.
I can honestly say this horse is proof that Kombat Boots work!!! Nothing else did it for him.
I really don’t know what I would have done without this product. We had already spent quite a bit of money trying to figure out what his problem was. Needless to say, he will stay on Kombat Boots for as long as he stays on our farm. We have several other horses on our farm that are on KB for hoof issues. It really is working for hoof growth. It is making some of our not so desirable hooves very pliable, with a stronger wall.
And Bou’s feet…well they are now beautiful!!!
I hope this helps to convince your customers who are teetering on making the decision to try Kombat Boots. I only hope that they really give it a chance. As I said earlier, it took 3 months for us to really see the change. If I had stopped at the first month, and just assumed that this stuff doesn’t work. Well where would Bou be? I told you I would have to be convinced it works before I could sell this stuff to my customers. Well you know…I am selling away with some very positive results. Not just in hooves, but also in overall attitude in some cases. But that is another story. I will let my customers send you those.
Thanks again, Cole, for putting out a good product for our equine friends who need all the help they can get. And thanks for convincing pessimists like myself that it’s at least worth a try. Because now, I know it works!
